Florida Repertory Theatre is a fully professional theatre company performing in the Historic Arcade Theatre in downtown Fort Myers, Florida. Built in 1908, the Arcade Theatre has all the charm and splendor of early Florida. The Arcade Theatre was the very same house where Thomas Edison saw his first films, along with his friends Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone. The City of Fort Myers acquired the theatre house in 1991 and at that time it was completed restored. In 1998, it became home to the Florida Rep.
In 2012, Chris-Tel Construction was selected to provide Construction Manager-at-Risk services for the renovation of Artstage. Providing these much needed renovations to remove a structural column in the center, Artstage now has larger cast plays, a bigger stage, new lighting system and capacity for 120 seats which have adaptable layouts depending on the performance. Chris-Tel also did minor renovations for the new production equipment and controls area.
