As part of a continuing contract for Florida Gulf Coast University, Chris-Tel Construction provided Construction Manager at Risk services for transportation upgrades at the University’s main campus.

The project was divided into two phases. Phase One included coordination with SWFWMD (Southwest Florida Water Management District) to increase pervious land due to impervious improvements; creation of drainage; culvert; underground work including force main and sewer relocation; traffic signals on the corner of FGCU Boulevard and FGCU Lake Parkway; improvement of traffic flow via creation and implementation of turn lanes and striping; deceleration and acceleration lanes, including yield to right at main exit and crosswalk buttons.

Phase Two of the project included creation of a turn lane southbound Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, exiting from the FGCU campus; north entrance deceleration lanes; creation of drainage; culvert; underground work including force main and sewer relocation; improvement of traffic flow via creation and implementation of turn lanes and striping; traffic signals; new signal poles and landscaping.
